Bilingual Websites and AI: Why Spanish Content Matters for U.S. Service Businesses

Many U.S. service businesses serve customers in English and Spanish. Those customers ask AI questions in both languages too. Here’s how to make sure your website is ready.

The question in Spanish

“¿Qué dentista cerca de mí habla español y acepta mi seguro?”

When someone asks a question like this, the AI tool answers in Spanish, and it looks for businesses that clearly serve Spanish-speaking customers. If your team speaks Spanish but your website never says so, AI has no way of knowing.

1. Say it clearly, in both languages

Don’t hide it in a footer. On your English pages, say something like: “Our team serves patients in English and Spanish.” On your Spanish content, lead with it: “Hablamos español.” Be specific about which services, staff or hours are available in Spanish.

2. Give Spanish speakers a real page

A translation button is better than nothing, but a dedicated Spanish page, written for people, is much clearer for both customers and AI. Start with your most important page, usually your homepage or main service page. Ask your web provider to set it up so search engines understand it’s the Spanish version of the same page.

3. Keep your facts consistent

Your business name, address, phone, hours and prices should be the same in both languages. If your English page says you open at 8 and your Spanish page says 9, AI has to guess which is right.

4. Translate for people, not just for machines

Automatic translation can get the words right and the meaning wrong. Have a fluent Spanish speaker review your content, and use neutral Spanish your customers will recognize, whatever country their family comes from.

5. Only promise what you offer

If only one person on your team speaks Spanish, or Spanish is available only on certain days, say exactly that. Accurate information builds more trust than a broad promise.

FAQ

Do I need a full Spanish website?

Not necessarily. Start with one well-written Spanish page for your most important service, and make sure your English pages mention that you serve Spanish-speaking customers.

Will automatic translation hurt me?

It’s not a disaster, but it can create errors and an unnatural tone. A human review makes your content clearer and more trustworthy, for customers and for AI.
