The AI Visibility Checklist for U.S. Service Businesses

A practical checklist you can go through with your homepage or main service page, organized by the seven categories of the AI Visibility Readiness Score.

By the VISIBLA team · Published · Updated

How to use it: open the page you want customers to find and check each item. Items marked (ask your web provider) may need technical help.

Service Clarity

  • ☐ The main headline (H1) names your service, not a slogan.
  • ☐ The first paragraph explains what you do, for whom and where — on its own, without needing the rest of the page.
  • ☐ Your ideal customer is clear (families, homeowners, small businesses…).
  • ☐ What makes you different is specific, not “quality” or “trusted.”

Search Intent Match

  • ☐ The page explains what each service includes.
  • ☐ It says who the service is right for, and when it isn’t.
  • ☐ It explains your process: what happens first, next and after.
  • ☐ It gives pricing expectations (“starting at,” “free estimate,” “consultation required”).
  • ☐ It has FAQs based on questions customers actually ask you.
  • ☐ Each FAQ has a direct answer of two to four sentences.

Local Signals

  • ☐ Your city and service areas appear in the text, not only in the footer.
  • ☐ Your name, address and phone number match your Google Business Profile and directories.
  • ☐ Your hours are listed and up to date.

Trust Signals

  • ☐ Licenses, certifications or credentials are visible.
  • ☐ Team members have names, roles and short bios.
  • ☐ Years in business or experience are stated.
  • ☐ Reviews or testimonials appear, with permission.
  • ☐ Photos show your real team, office or work.
  • ☐ Every claim on the page can be backed up.

Conversion Path

  • ☐ One clear next step appears near the top (“Book a consultation,” “Get a free estimate”).
  • ☐ The page explains what happens after someone takes that step.
  • ☐ Your phone number is tappable on mobile.
  • ☐ Your booking or contact form works.

Structured Data (ask your web provider)

  • ☐ The page has business schema (LocalBusiness or a more specific type) with your correct name, address, phone and hours.
  • ☐ Main services and FAQs are described with schema where it makes sense.
  • ☐ All schema matches what the page visibly shows.

AI Access & Answerability

  • ☐ robots.txt doesn’t block OAI-SearchBot, Claude-SearchBot or PerplexityBot, unless you’ve decided to. Read: How to check your robots.txt →
  • ☐ Pages you want cited don’t have a noindex or nosnippet instruction (ask your web provider).
  • ☐ Important information is in the page text, not only inside images or content that loads with scripts (ask your web provider).
  • ☐ The page shows a visible “last updated” date.
  • ☐ The page loads quickly on a phone.

After the checklist

Start with the unchecked items in Service Clarity and AI Access & Answerability: they have the biggest impact. Publish your changes, then measure again. Treat every result as a guide, not a certification.

How quickly will my score change?
